Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship announced its endorsements Thursday morning for this year’s Board of Trustees alumni election. The organization will back incumbent Rob Tribeck and newcomers Alvin de Levie and Brandon Short.

Candidates Announced for Penn State Alumni Trustee Election

Penn State on Wednesday announced the candidates who will appear on the ballot for election of trustees by alumni this spring.

Four candidates will be seeking three alumni-elected seats on the board, and at least two are guaranteed to be first-time trustees. Incumbents Anthony Lubrano and Ryan McCombie announced after the nomination period closed on Sunday that they would decline nomination for election. Both will conclude their second terms on the board on June 30.

Could a former Penn State football star join the board of trustees?

Brandon Short was the Nittany Lions football captain through two football seasons.

Now he’s thinking about spending a few more years on the Penn State board of trustees.

On Sunday, Short announced his candidacy for one of the three alumni-elected positions up this year. Anthony Lubrano, Ryan McCombie and Robert Tribeck hold those seats right now. Lubrano confirmed Sunday that he is running for re-election.

Penn State All-American Brandon Short Announces Candidacy For Board Of Trustees

Former Penn State football player Brandon Short, who starred for the Nittany Lions in the late 90s and was an All-Big Ten first team and an All-American in 1999, announced that he will seek a spot on the Penn State Board of Trustees in this year’s election.
